On Wednesday 12th August, Rushworth P-12 College played the Ironbark Cup against St. Mary’s School. It was a good afternoon to watch the football as the ball got thrown up at 1:45.
A few points got kicked by Brett Anderson, and Alex and Andrew Gelsi both kicked one goal each and they were the only goals kicked.
In the 4th quarter St Marys put their best at centre half forward and he kicked 6 goals. It was tight until the 4th quarter came and everyone was tired but everyone still got a touch of the ball.
Central umpires Ben Kealy and Taswell Pain did a fantastic job, as did Timmy Wall, Ryan West, Jeremy Lambden and Nathan McKay.
We would like to give a big thank you to them, and to Mr Fraser as the coach for the afternoon.
The scores were:
St Marys: 10.10.70
Rushy P-12: 2.2.14
A big thanks to David Chillingsworth for lending the junior footy jumpers and some people brought their own. Just again big thanks to all who helped on the day!!!!
Andrew Gelsi

The schools also played netball against each other, with Rushworth P-12 coming away with a win, well done to both teams and thank you to Miss Nelson for coaching the P-12 girls.

On Friday 31st July the school community made it’s way to the Rushworth Recreation Reserve to hold it’s annual Fun Run/Walk.

Enthusiastic participation by all students made for a great afternoon and we were successful in raising $ 512.95 for sporting equipment which will be used at lunchtimes.
Thanks must go to the students for raising such a great amount – a very worthwhile effort!
